CFMEU handed over a cheque for $20,000 following a fundraising appeal for the Centenary Hospital for Women & Children on Thursday.
“Our workers have dug deep to look after the community” said CFMEU ACT Secretary, Dean Hall, “that’s what we do: your family is our family”
In the lead up to Good Friday, CFMEU members held BBQs on ACT construction sites, as well as selling flags to hang from cranes to raise money. The Tradies Club also made a donation as part of the appeal.
“Through our Children’s Healthcare Trust we continued to raise vital funds for sick kids. This is not our day to day work of negotiating wages or protecting safety, but it is one small and practical thing we can do to support our community” Mr Hall said.

In April, the Chief Minister, Andrew Barr MLA, ceremonially hoisted the CFMEU Good Friday Appeal flag to kick off the fundraising drive.
At the handover ceremony wheelchairs purchased from last year’s donation were proudly on display.
